Description

Serve as the interface between the market (the voice of the customer) and Magenta’s R&D organization. Help define product roadmaps, including requirements, specifications, risks, hazards, pre-clinical testing, and go-to-market activities.


Responsibilities


  • Lead usability testing activities, lead product training efforts.
  • Participate in marketing activities related to the product.
  • Gather needs for current and future products, identify optimized solutions, lead strategic & tactical product roadmaps.
  • Own and responsible for full product lifecycle.
  • Responsible for characterization of new products and features.
  • Responsible to monitor competitive activity, ranging from IP, through technical features, to market performance and marketing activities.
  • Provide input to product training and marketing activities/materials.
  • Provide support for products that are sold in mass numbers, interface with sales reps, distributors, and end-customers worldwide.
  • Responsible for characterization of all product-related risks and hazards.
  • Responsible for verification of ease-of-use.
  • Definition of use-scenarios for the product.
  • Responsible for user-interface interactions.
  • Procure accessories and relevant off-the-shelf products for evaluation/assessment.


Reports to

VP R&D

Requirements

  • M.Sc. in a relevant field.
  • Relevant M.A. and/or M.B.A. - an advantage.
  • Ph.D. or MD - an advantage.
  • Desirable to have at least 8 years of experience in product management (preferably B2B) or shorter R&D experience.
  • Experience with FDA submissions and FDA human factors/usability studies.
  • Experience defining user interfaces, product requirements, product specifications, and hazard analyses.
  • Experience presenting scientific and clinical data before advisory boards.
  • Advantages to experience in adjacent disciplines/roles, such as: Product Marketing / Marketing / Business Development / R&D Developer / Team Leader / Program Management / Project Management.
  • Thorough understanding of organizational processes - experience working with internal stakeholders from product definition to launch.
  • End-to-end product lifecycle experience from inception to scale marketing.
  • Experience with sophisticated, data-rich products with a significant customer base, products or systems that combine hardware and software - an advantage.
  • Strong experience with cardiovascular or structural heart devices preferred.
  • Experience with Class III medical devices and pre-commercial stage companies - an advantage.
